This section is dedicated to the third part of pregnancy that everyone seems to forget about. We tend to focus on the birth (which is a peak event) but we need to take a look at what happens afterward.
Although your midwife will review after birth care instructions for you and your newborn in the hours after your birth, you will be tired and might not retain much. If you have questions, don't hesitate to call, but if we can answer a quick question for you here, that is good, too!
It is easy for our family and friends to assume that once you have had a baby, natural bliss will set in and everything will be sunshine and roses. But what if it isn't? What if you are having trouble nursing, the baby isn't sleeping, you have other children to care for and can't seem to get it together. Some of these issues will be discussed below also. Again, don't hesitate to call if you are feeling overwhelmed and need some direction.
So look through these sections below and start to familiarize yourself with some of the other upcoming events, and bookmark this section for future reference. Also, feel free to print sections up and pass to family and friends regarding your recovery.
Your new little one will bring you many suprises and a whole lot of questions! We try to cover most of these questions during your prenatal appointments, but here are some topics that we feel you should also read about to make a more informed decision.
Also join us for classes at our office regarding topics such as Baby-Wearing and newborn care for first time mommies!
