Having a midwife attend you during your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum period are vastly different than traditional medical care with a hospital based obstetrician. Midwifery care, although comprehensive and complete, should be relaxed and educational. We cover the same topics as an OBGYN, (labwork, sonos, fetal growth) but hopefully we do so in a way that you can experience a more enlightened view toward natural childbirth. Our goal is not to manage your birth FOR YOU, but to guide it in away that will make it a joyous and wonderful experience WITH YOU. Your body was made inherently perfect for giving birth, and provided with the necessary information and understanding of the birth process along with the help of experienced midwives to assist in the birth itself, you should not need or desire drugs for your birth. In this section of our website you will find information regarding birth that we hope might help you make a more informed decision about your options in this peak experience in you and your baby's life.

Heart 2 Heart Birth Center was established by Michelle Gawne and has evolved as she has molded her practice around her clients needs and desires for natural childbirth options. Opening a birth center has been Michelle's lifelong dream after having delivered her first son in a Victorian birth center similar to this one. Heart 2 Heart Birth Center offers complete birthing services in a beautiful Victorian home that was once a Nationally renowned Bed & Breakfast in Sanford FL (formerly the Rose Cottage Bed &Breakfast).

Michelle's original homebirth practice, Special Delivery Childbirth Services (1997) was created with her best friend and fellow midwife Lynn Deer. Michelle & Lynn's paths went separate ways for a little while to take care of their families, and the two have now reunited as a strong team at Heart 2 Heart.

Lynn brings with her a strong knowledge base for wellness care. Lynn is a National Sales Manager for JuicePlus+, a nutritional supplement that both Lynn and Michelle believe very strongly in for the best health for their patients, as well as their families.
